Thursday, Nov. 30, an act of charity turned into tragedy for Barbara “Breeze” and Frank Menchyk of Connoquenessing.

And at Hampton Beer Outlet, the community stepped up to make things right.

Frank and Barbara are well known in the community for their constant acts of service and charity, always helping those in need and lending a hand when and wherever possible.

On Nov. 30, they were delivering meals around the community –– as they do –– when they received a call nobody wants:

Their house was on fire.

In the blaze, Frank and Barbara lost everything, including their beloved dogs, Annie and Jaxson.

JoAnn and Amy, integral pieces of the Hampton Beer Outlet team as General Manager and Sales Associate, respectively, sprung into action.

As friends of Frank’s and Barbara’s, JoAnn and Amy set up a display, raffling off a cart of beer valued ~$250 to raise money for what was lost in the fire.

There’s no truly replacing those losses, but the tremendous combined efforts from JoAnn, Amy, and our incredible customers raised over $2,500 for Frank and Barbara.

We’re honored to play a role in this incredible community.

This reminded us just how powerful and supportive a community can and should be when our neighbors are in need.

Before the holidays, this served as a special reminder for all of us!

Thank you to all involved who helped make this fundraiser successful for Frank and Barbara. Your efforts did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
